Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Chief Finance and Administrative Officer
Positions supervised: None

Purpose: The Human Resource Manager will be an HR Generalist who can lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Works closely with Director of Finance and Administration to support administration compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities
• Maintains current knowledge of employment laws, HR best practice so as to ensure compliance of local and federal legislation
• Administer performance management systems, health & safety programs; support Director of Finance & Administration on administering compensation and benefits
• Effective conflict resolution/resolves issues between management and staff
• Advise managers on policies like equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment
• Oversee recruitment and hiring process
• Direct disciplinary procedures
• Lead organization and space planning
• Oversee employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
• Develop programs to promote employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
• All other duties as assigned and requested by supervisor

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
• Professional in Human Resources, (PHR) certification preferred, not required
• Experience in administration of benefits and compensation programs
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and coaching skills
• Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and customer-service oriented, but firm and assertive when necessary and the ability to work with people with a diverse cultural, socioeconomic, racial and educational backgrounds
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent written & oral communication skills with strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills
