For more than a decade, Towards Employment (TE) has partnered with businesses to develop and deliver customized services to increase employee retention and advancement.

For the past five years, TE has coordinated WorkAdvance, an industry-driven, regional collaborative that prepares individuals for employment and advancement in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. Since 2010, TE and University Hospitals (UH) have worked together to develop an array of customized programs as part of their talent development strategy. TE assists UH in recruiting people for entry-level positions from the neighborhoods closest to their main campus and preparing them to succeed in their jobs. To ensure individuals have opportunity to advance, TE also works with UH to prepare entry-level employees from its existing staff to fill in-demand jobs higher up the career ladder. This proces

s provides a pipeline of entry-level employees and gives the entry-level employees extra support they may need to advance, while meeting the talent needs of the Hospital.
